Some of my favorite books

Having a page with your favorite books is a great way to share to boost your also boughts, while also recommending excellent content to your readers. You *should* be reading books in your genre, and posting short reviews. You can even send a few of your best reviews, or links to THIS page, in your email autoresponder.

This could also be a “my friends” page if you want to link to some of your favorite authors – especially if you have any photos of you together. Even if you don’t, it’s good brand transference, and by having relevant content and links out to other author blogs in your genre or field, it makes it easier for Google to “place” your site and figure out where it belongs.

A page like this might also attract backlinks, but probably only if it’s very focused, for example “33 best young adult mermaid books you should read right now.” But that might be better for a blog post, not a main page on your website. I would probably add your “best books of all time” here, but also include a section for “#amreading” posts and current book reviews. Whenever you launch a new book, you should review a few similar books to keep your posts and contest relevant to your latest release.
